Nice work today, Christian servers. You led our Terry Fox assembly really well. Today we pray especially for those effected by cancer, that a cure might be found. We look to Terry, Chiara Badano, Zach and all others that shine God's love for us despite their health battles.

We missed those of you that were away today!

Our Spirit Day forms went home today. This event is so much fun- picture you and a couple thousand others grade 7's from the entire Archdiocese in an auditorium watching performers, feeling alive for your faith and just having a laugh!! We ask that you please return forms TMW so that we can register you all TMW :)

How exciting was it to get to meet our grade 2/3 buddies today?? I look forward to some activities with them soon!

Learning the meaning of Juxtaposition was interesting too- I look forward to the finished products of your Mona Lisa pieces!

 Students, please carefully think about what Mr. Borkowski came and talked to all the grade 7's about today. You are all such a caring and kind bunch of students- let's keep building each other up and helping each other become your best selves! :)
Here is a reminder of the types of behaviours that have been occurring, and that will not be tolerated (Mr. B. has asked that anyone that does such actions be sent immediately to his office so that parents can be called):

We are certainly back to reality after our amazing time at Timberline Ranch last week. Getting to know you all and see you enjoy yourselves at camp was a real privilege!

I am looking forward to getting into our proper routine this week. It was great to finally do our religion/socials/science switch today. I am sure you were all delighted to see a new teacher ;)
Band will also be in full swing this week.

I hope the cross country meet went well for the three students that attended. Volleyball and boys soccer are also underway this week.

With only a few short days to go before we embark on our Timberline trip, we wanted to send home a couple of important reminders:

·       Students need to arrive at the school at 8:30am on Wed. September 13.

·       Please ensure that your child brings a snack, drink and lunch (see below).

·       We will arrive back at the school on Friday before 2pm. Pls pick up your child promptlyJ.

p.s. Reminders when packing: 

1.       Pack a bag lunch for the first day

2.     Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Sheet (roll all together and double bag in 2 garbage bags marked with name). 

3.     Clothing basics (socks, undies, pyjamas), Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, warm sweater or sweatshirt, 2 pairs of footwear (consider the hike), waterproof jacket, hat, sunglasses and a modest bathing suit. 

4.    Towel, facecloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, Kleenex, deodorant, bug repellent, soap and container, comb, brush, shampoo, sun screen, non-prescription allergy medicine.

5.    Flashlight, camera, watch

NOT TO BRING: Electronic devices, junk food, knives

The countdown to camp is on!! I know you are all so excited for this great opportunity. It is going to be great. I advise you all to spend time packing ahead of time so that you are not delayed. Please be at CCS at 8.30am on Weds. for departure by bus (space is tight so please pack lightly).  Pick up is before 2pm on Friday.

Feel free to remind your parents that they are welcome to join us for skits on the first evening (around 6pm)- they promise to be entertaining!

It was wonderful to chat with our C.C.S. families at our back to school B.B.Q. yesterday!

I think Adoration/Confession today was just what we needed...don't you feel so much better? I know I do!

Many of you will spend your weekends singing the Rattlin' Bog song I am sure....it's just so catchy! I cannot wait to sing it with you all at the campfire at Timberline next week. Please be sure to go over the notice regarding Timberline with your parents.

I am yet to hear from a couple of your parents via email, so if you could kind them to shoot me a quick "hello" email I would appreciate it.

Homework:

• Get ready for Timberline- review notice with parents
• Decide on a homework schedule (Tues.):
• At Meet the Teacher parents received a pkg and the "pinkish" pages related to HW
• With a parent, decide on a HW schedule which you will fully begin the week after camp
• Keep schedule in planner
• TUES: bring in schedule with times agreed upon to show me
• Week after Timberline: follow schedule, and assess how it went daily 
• End of week 1: teacher to check
• Week 2: same/adapted schedule, repeat for the week :)
